VH1’S PROPOSED NEW SERIES BASED ON
“ GAMES PEOPLE PLAY”
OFFERS VIEWERS THE MOST TWISTED GAME
EVER BROADCAST ON NATIONAL TELEVISION

VH1 has asked Emmy Award winning filmmaker, James Ronald Whitney, to turn his extreme-reality movie trilogy, GAMES PEOPLE PLAY, into a VH1 reality series that Whitney will direct and host. The first installment of the series goes into production next month. Roger Ebert said “The imagination behind this (game show) is SADDISTIC...I must admit, it certainly is COMPULSIVELY WATCHABLE!” He further described Whitney’s games as a “BRILLIANT example of an experiment in psychological manipulation (4 OUT OF 4 STARS) …it evokes a strange and horrible fascination…!”

Viewers will see just how far people will go for Fame and Fortune. “Full-frontal nudity is the least outrageous part of this (game)…INGENIOUS and INSANE!” remarked The New York Post. For a cash prize each week, 6 people (3 guys/3 girls) will compete in the most shocking game ever produced. After 6 weeks, those 6 winners will compete in the finale called the TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS, where that champion will compete for an undisclosed grand prize. “If I have my way, the weekly cash prize will be $10,000.00 like it is in my movie trilogy, and the big grand prize will be $50,000.00, just like I say as the very last line in the film, GAMES PEOPLE PLAY: NEW YORK.”

The Washington Post described Whitney’s games as “A kind of CANDID CAMERA ON ACID!” The feature film on which VH1’s provocative new and controversial series is based, first made headlines after hitting theaters nationwide in March of 2004 when indieWIRE wrote that, “James Ronald Whitney’s risqué feature, GAMES PEOPLE PLAY, seduced its way to #1… grabbing the throne from Mel Gibson’s “The Passions of the Christ.” Entertainment Weekly called Whitney’s game, “A frisson of SHOCK…EYE-OPENING!”
